Privacy policy
This policy explains how Whiteforge Technologies Ltd (“Whiteforge”, “we”) handles personal data in connection with the website at whiteforgetech.co.uk.
This policy covers the website only. Our products have their own privacy policies. For MailSearch, see MailSearch’s privacy policy.
Who we are
Whiteforge Technologies Ltd is a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17224707). We are the data controller for personal data processed in connection with this website.
What we collect when you visit this website
Nothing that identifies you. This site does not use analytics, advertising, social tracking, fingerprinting, or any third-party scripts. It sets no cookies.
Server logs
This website is hosted on GitHub Pages. GitHub processes basic technical information (such as your IP address and request data) to deliver the site and to keep its infrastructure secure. We do not have access to identifiable visitor logs from GitHub. GitHub’s own privacy practices are described in GitHub’s privacy statement.
If you email us
If you contact us at support@whiteforgetech.co.uk, we will see your email address and whatever you choose to include in the message. We use that information only to respond to you and to keep a record of the correspondence. We do not add you to any mailing list. We retain support correspondence for as long as it is useful for follow-up support and accounting; you can ask us to delete it at any time.
Legal basis
Where we process personal data from email correspondence, our legal basis under the UK GDPR is our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries and providing support to people who contact us, or the performance of a contract where the correspondence relates to a product you have bought.
Sharing
We do not sell personal data. We do not share personal data with third parties for marketing. Our email is hosted by a third-party email provider acting as a processor on our behalf; emails you send us pass through and are stored by that provider in the normal course of email delivery.
International transfers
Some of the service providers we rely on (such as GitHub, which hosts the site, and our email provider) may store or process data outside the UK. Where they do so, they are required to use safeguards that the UK recognises as providing an adequate level of protection.
Your rights
Under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018 you have the right to:
- ask what personal data we hold about you and request a copy;
- ask us to correct information that is inaccurate;
- ask us to delete information we no longer need to keep;
- ask us to restrict or object to particular processing;
- withdraw consent at any time, where we are relying on consent.
To exercise any of these rights, email support@whiteforgetech.co.uk. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk) if you think we have handled your data improperly.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the “last updated” date above. Material changes will be summarised at the top of the policy for a reasonable period.
