HoroCalc privacy policy

For the HoroCalc iOS & iPadOS app · Last updated 26 June 2026

Summary. Any movements and timing logs you choose to save are stored only on your own device. HoroCalc transmits nothing to Whiteforge and makes no network connections. There are no accounts, no cloud sync, no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party SDKs of any kind.

1. Introduction

This policy explains how HoroCalc handles your data. HoroCalc is an iOS application published by Whiteforge Technologies Ltd (“Whiteforge”, “we”), a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17224707). It provides precision calculators for mechanical watch and clock work.

This policy is for the HoroCalc app. The whiteforgetech.co.uk website has its own privacy policy.

2. Data Whiteforge receives

None. HoroCalc does not transmit any data to Whiteforge. There are no Whiteforge servers in the data path. The app contains no analytics SDKs, no crash-reporting SDKs, no advertising SDKs, and no third-party tracking libraries of any kind.

3. What is stored on your device

The values you type into a calculator are held in memory only while the app is open and are not written to disk — closing the app clears them.

The one exception is the Saved Movements feature. When you choose to save a movement, the details you enter — its name, maker, caliber, barrel and beat specifications, your notes, and any timing readings you log — are stored locally on your device using Apple’s on-device database (SwiftData). This data never leaves your device: it is not transmitted to Whiteforge, not synced to any cloud, and not shared with anyone. You can delete a movement or a reading at any time from within the app, and removing the app removes all of it. The spec sheets you export are created only when you tap Share, and go wherever you send them.

4. Network activity

HoroCalc makes no network connections. All calculations run locally on your device using standard arithmetic. The app functions fully offline and requires no internet connection at any time.

5. Purchase

HoroCalc is a paid app purchased directly through the App Store. Apple processes the payment. Whiteforge does not receive your payment details or any information about the transaction. Apple’s handling of your payment is governed by Apple’s privacy policy.

6. Third parties

HoroCalc contains no third-party SDKs. All frameworks used are Apple’s own system frameworks (SwiftUI, SwiftData, and Swift Charts).

7. Children

HoroCalc is a specialist tool intended for watch and clock enthusiasts and professionals. It is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

8. Your rights

If you are in the UK or the EU, you have rights under the UK GDPR and the EU GDPR. Because HoroCalc stores no personal data and transmits nothing to Whiteforge, there is no personal data held by us that is subject to these rights. You can complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.

9. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will update the “Last updated” date at the top. Material changes will be summarised at the top of the policy for a reasonable period.
