What MailSearch does

Built-in mail search on iPhone and iPad has always been frustrating: slow, limited to recent messages, and unable to look inside older mail. MailSearch fixes that by building a proper full-text index of your mailbox on your device, so every word of every message is searchable in milliseconds — including messages from years ago.

Connect any combination of Gmail, Outlook, iCloud, and standard IMAP accounts. MailSearch fetches your mail, indexes it locally, and lets you search instantly. Your mail never leaves your device.

Features

• On-device search

  The full-text index lives on your device. Whiteforge servers never see your mail, addresses, attachments, or contacts.

• Multiple accounts

  Connect several mail accounts at once and search across all of them — or filter by account.

• Search the whole archive

  Find that thing from years ago. MailSearch indexes the full content of every message, not just the recent ones.

• Standards-based

  OAuth 2.0 for Gmail and Microsoft; standard IMAP for everything else. No proxy servers, no middlemen.

• Disconnect any time

  Remove an account and MailSearch revokes its tokens and deletes the local index. Uninstall the app and it all goes with it.

• No tracking

  No analytics, no advertising SDKs, no third-party telemetry. The app does not phone home.

Supported providers

• Gmail Google accounts via OAuth 2.0. MailSearch requests gmail.readonly — read-only access to your messages, used only to fetch and index them on your device.
• Outlook / Microsoft 365 Personal, work, and school Microsoft accounts via OAuth 2.0. MailSearch requests Mail.Read, User.Read, and offline_access.
• iCloud Mail Apple ID accounts using an app-specific password generated at appleid.apple.com.
• Other IMAP Any standards-compliant IMAP provider with TLS.

Privacy

MailSearch is designed so that we — the developers — never see your mail. Indexing and search happen on your device. We have no servers that hold mail content, addresses, attachments, or contacts.
