Summary. A New Dawn stores your quit date and smoking profile locally on your device. None of this information is transmitted to Whiteforge. The app contains no analytics, no telemetry, and no advertising SDKs. The only external connection is to Apple’s App Store for purchase validation when you unlock the app.

1. Introduction

This policy explains how A New Dawn handles your data. A New Dawn is an iOS and watchOS application published by Whiteforge Technologies Ltd (“Whiteforge”, “we”), a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17224707). It helps you track your smoke-free time, money saved, and health milestones after quitting smoking.

This policy is for the A New Dawn app. The whiteforgetech.co.uk website has its own privacy policy.

2. Data Whiteforge receives

None. A New Dawn does not transmit your quit date, your smoking profile, your craving log, or any other personal data to Whiteforge. There are no Whiteforge servers in the data path. The app contains no analytics SDKs, no crash-reporting SDKs, no advertising SDKs, and no third-party tracking libraries of any kind.

3. What is stored on your device

A New Dawn stores the following locally on your device:

None of this data leaves your device except through iCloud backup if you have iCloud Backup enabled on your iPhone. That backup is under your control and subject to Apple’s privacy policy, not ours.

4. Notifications

A New Dawn can send local push notifications when you reach a health milestone — for example, 20 minutes, 8 hours, 24 hours, or 10 years smoke-free. These notifications are scheduled entirely on-device using Apple’s UNUserNotificationCenter API. No notification passes through Whiteforge servers; the delivery is handled directly by iOS based on your quit date.

You can enable or disable milestone notifications in the Settings tab. You can also revoke notification permission at any time in iOS Settings → Notifications → A New Dawn.

5. Purchase validation

A New Dawn is free to download. Full access requires a one-time in-app purchase (“A New Dawn Unlock”). When you make or restore a purchase, the transaction is processed entirely by Apple through the App Store using Apple’s StoreKit framework. Your entitlement is verified on-device against Apple’s signed transaction record — no purchase data is sent to Whiteforge or any third-party service. Apple’s handling of your payment is governed by Apple’s privacy policy.

6. Network activity

A New Dawn makes no network connections except during the purchase flow, when StoreKit communicates with the App Store to complete or restore your purchase. Outside of purchase events, the app is fully offline. All timers and calculations run on-device.

7. Third parties

A New Dawn contains no third-party SDKs. Purchases are handled by Apple’s own StoreKit framework, and all other functionality uses Apple’s system frameworks (SwiftUI, SwiftData, WidgetKit, WatchKit, UserNotifications). No analytics, advertising, or purchase-management services are embedded.

8. Children

A New Dawn is intended for adults who are quitting smoking. It is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. Your rights

If you are in the UK or the EU, you have rights under the UK GDPR and the EU GDPR — including the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection, and the right to lodge a complaint. Because A New Dawn does not transmit personal data to Whiteforge, these rights are effectively exercised by controlling the app and your device directly. You can delete all your data by deleting the app from your iPhone. You can complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.

10. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will update the “Last updated” date at the top. Material changes will be summarised at the top of the policy for a reasonable period.
